Exclusive Interview: Connor Blinman Discusses the Development of Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™

We recently sat down with Posh Monkey Studios, a developer that describes its approach to game development as being "built with care, shaped by collaboration, and refined through attention to detail".

In this insightful interview, Connor Blinman, Posh Monkey Studios’ Co-Founder, shares with us how this philosophy influenced the design and development of the fishing-themed slot machine, Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™.

To start, could you please introduce yourself to Gamblers Pick readers and tell us a little more about your role at Posh Monkey Studios?

Hello! My name is Connor, and I am a Posh Monkey Studios Co-Founder. My role sits within the Product team, overseeing game development from early concept through to release. 

Posh Monkey Studios is a relatively new name in the industry. What kind of identity are you looking to build, and is Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™ a strong representation of what the studio is all about? 

We’re a new studio that is looking to bring our experience within the industry to create a premium product that is synonymous with high-quality, while bringing something fresh to the market. We pride ourselves on bringing the very best in all aspects of the game, from the math and mechanics to the artwork and polish.

Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™ is the exact type of product that showcases what we as a studio are all about. It is a fresh take on a classic theme while being deeply rooted in ensuring the player experience is at the forefront of our priorities.

Fishing-themed slots have always been a staple of the industry - how important is it that Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™ makes up part of your early portfolio? 

We wanted to ensure that right off the bat, we nailed some core casino themes to ensure that players could connect with our studio through a familiar setting, and since fishing titles strongly resonate within the slot space, it felt like a good choice to include. However, very quickly upon opening the casino game, players will recognise that this isn’t just another fishing game, bringing a new edge to a long-standing theme.

QUADGROWS™ is clearly the headline here. Could you explain how the QUADGROWS™ system works and just how important progression is with regard to the gameplay?

Absolutely, QUADGROWS™ is the new mechanic that we've introduced with Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™. We wanted to create something that genuinely evolves with gameplay. There's real prize potential from the very first spin, but where QUADGROWS™ really comes into its own is through progression via a Countdown Clock - we wanted to ensure that players were rewarded for how far they progress through the feature.

Players can unlock more rows through spins in the base game, taking the reels from a 5x3 grid to a 5x7 grid, with each new row opening up greater prize potential, such as higher Instant Prizes and bigger Fisherman Collect Multipliers. It's designed mathematically to give players genuine, meaningful progress within the game - every spin is building toward something.

The Fisherman Collect feature is central to the gameplay, with multipliers that grow as the reels expand. How does that combination of collecting and multiplying shape the moment-to-moment experience?

On any spin, the player can collect the Fish with the Fisherman, classic fishing gameplay. But here we wanted to bring something new. With the QUADGROWS™ feature, as the player unlocks more rows and the reels expand, they will also see, to the right side of the reels, some new Collect Multipliers available to them. 

Should the player land the Fisherman on that row, they will have their Collect prize multiplied by the associated value on the Collect Multiplier. This takes the gameplay up a notch with each additional row unlocked and creates increasingly engaging moments while you progress through the QUADGROWS™ feature.

Can you explain the concept of Posh Spins™ and how they work once unlocked? 

Posh Spins™ is the name we've given our Ante Bet option. We wanted to introduce this once a player has fulfilled their QUADGROWS™ objective and unlocked the full grid. At that point, if Free Spins haven't yet been triggered, they can enable Posh Spins™ for 1.2x total bet to increase their chances of triggering the Free Spins bonus, where available.

The Free Spins Bonus takes the QUADGROWS™ mechanic even further, with multipliers shifting upward across the reels. What does the bonus round add on top of what's already happening in the base game?

We wanted the QUADGROWS™ mechanic to not only be something that enhances the base game experience, but also enhances the Free Spins bonus. When entering the Free Spins bonus, the Collect Multipliers will shift upwards, meaning that on each row, there is now a Collect Multiplier. Combine this with the fact that the player has unlocked all 7 rows, and they will have the chance to land a Fisherman on the newly unlocked x100 Collect Multiplier within the Free Spins bonus feature.

Many fishing-themed slots have grown into long-running franchises. Is that something Posh Monkey Studios has in mind for Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™?

We're very proud of what we've built with Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™, and conversations about the brand's future are already underway. As a studio, we are looking to build upon our successes while simultaneously releasing fresh content that players have not seen before.

Finally, what does the rest of 2026 look like for Posh Monkey Studios? 

2026 is our first year in the market, and with Fishin' Madness™ QUADGROWS™ being our third release, we intend to release a fourth and fifth game later this year. 

Next up, we have the 1st Class Express™ Big Train Bonus™ slot game that introduces a never-before-seen Bonus feature that builds upon the growing trend of train-related games.

Then, to round off the year, we are introducing players to a new game themed around pigs and hammers, featuring Jackpot Bonus mechanics.
