For the Commission it makes sense to streamline the process on their end, the sooner an application can be vetted the better for them from both a control and financial perspective.

The application process itself, however, was just as cumbersome as the approval process under the old system, taking several days for a licence holder to gather the required files, complete the forms and submit via post. The new “Manage Your Personal Licence” online service address this by reducing this long winded process from several days to less than an hour.

“It has proven to be particularly critical during the lockdown period as applicants can simply upload all their accompanying documents to the service, as opposed to posting hard copies.”
