New Dedicated Chatroom for Women
September will see the launch of the organisation's first-ever group chatroom exclusively for women who are suffering under the strains of gambling harms.
GamCare’s announcement of the initiative explained the need for these exclusive rooms:
“Women can be disproportionately negatively impacted by gambling-related harms, which include financial, relationship and mental health issues. GamCare is running this session for any women [or those who identify as female] who are affected by gambling, whether they are the gambler, or a family member or friend.”
This thoughtful new outreach is part of GamCare’s Women’s Programme which aims to create relationships with public and third sector organisations that assist and educate women on the realities of dealing with gambling addiction, understanding the stresses this creates and providing tools and support to thrive despite the challenges it presents.
