Global Gaming launch Nano Casino in Sweden Despite 'Draconian' Legislation

Swedish online gambling company Global Gaming AB has had a few rocky months as it has gone head to head with gambling regulatory body Spelinspektionen over the indefinite suspension of its flagship casino brand, Ninja Casino.

The ban was not without merit. Spelinspektionen correctly sited several contraventions of their stringent Anti Money Laundering and Care-Of-Duty (responsible gambling) requirements. Both of which are at the core of the Swedish gambling licencing agreement.

Despite clear evidence that they were in the wrong Global Gaming CEO Tobias Fagerlund called the actions of the licencing board “draconian” claiming that they were merely a young company who grew fast and made mistakes. To be fair a 42% hit to your company bottom line is enough to make any CEO feel put upon.

Goodbye Ninja, Hello Nano

Having lost both of their legal appeals, leaving Ninja Casino’s suspension firmly in the ‘indefinite’ camp, Global Gaming has taken decisive action to ensure they stay active in the market – they launched a new brand, Nano Casino.

The swift launch of a Nano Casino, despite Global Gaming’s ongoing tussles with Spelinspektionen, was made possible through their collaboration with Finnplay, a Malta-based iGaming turnkey services provider.

Based on the success of Nano Casino in Sweden there is the potential for the scope of this partnership to extend further afield given Finnplay’s access to licensing in the UK, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Denmark, Estonia, and Mexico through their Viral Interactive subsidiary.

Finnplay Will Toe The Line

From the press release given by Finnplay’s CEO, Martin Prantner both Finnplay and Global Gaming AB have realised that the Swedish regulatory body means business. Martin Prantner, is on record stating:

“Being a Nordic gaming platform provider, Sweden is our home market and we are committed to upholding the strict standards of the regulation.”

This can only bode well for the future of Nano Casino, both in Sweden and abroad. Perhaps a show of good faith in their Nano Casino dealings will help expedite the sanctioning of Ninja Casino.
