Harrah’s Las Vegas VP unveils the stunning results of their $200,000,000 renovation including new restaurants, celebrity destinations and the return of a legendary Vegas entertainer.
Investing in high-cost renovations during a period when public gathering sizes are restricted and casino profits are down might seem illogical yet many of the world’s biggest names in gambling are doing it.
What we forget is that while these companies are facing recent income contractions they have run for years, if not decades, as some of the most profitable businesses on the planet. With their cash reserves and the need to pick up foot traffic as soon as life begins to return to normal now is the perfect, low activity, window in which to do otherwise business slowing renovations, revamps and even rebrands.
Harrah’s Las Vegas Rolls the Dice
One casino brand with a bullish outlook on the land-based casino industry is Harrah’s Las Vegas. The resort has just completed a stunning remodel and revamp of its more than 2500 hotel rooms and suites, revealing a stunning purple and blue colour scheme to offset its base colour pallet of cream and dark wood.
Dan Walsh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Harrah's Las Vegas said:
"As a flagship location of the iconic gaming and hospitality brand, revamping Harrah's Las Vegas not only enhances the guest experience but also further reflects the fun and energy that makes Las Vegas such a unique travel destination. We look forward to seeing our guests enjoy all that Harrah's Las Vegas offers, especially this summer."
It is Walsh’s emphasis on “this summer” that is most telling of America’s current bated-breath view of the pandemic. While vaccinations are gaining traction and restrictions have been lifted in many states Nevada has still only “eased restrictions” with confirmed new Covid cases still on the rise.
Harrah’s is betting on a full lifting of restrictions in Nevada which would allow for business to begin to return to normal in Sin City. What no one can predict at this time is what opening the gates to unrestricted public gatherings in a place like Vegas will mean to infection rates.
How Much for Purple?
Regardless of what the future holds what we do know is that the team behind the $200 million did a fantastic job in transforming Harrah’s LV into a dreamy gambling destination. Clearly inspired by the likes of James Cameron’s Avatar the new look showcased an amazing organic textured ombré art piece in hues of blue and purple in the lobby and bold purple lighting and accents throughout the resort.
Here is how to spend $200 million in Vegas without gambling:
The sheer scale and quality of the work done to revitalise Harrah’s Las Vegas is astounding, and the casino resorts guests are guaranteed to be blown away.
Are You Not Entertained?
The true Las Vegas experience is not complete without the ability to take in a show or rub shoulders with some form of celebrity.
The management of Harrah’s LV has taken this into account and announced two star-studded experiences in addition to the revamp:
If you are looking for something a little more casual the Fulton Street Food Hall and Piano Bar will be serving up heady portions of cheesecake, banana cream pie, Harrah's signature fudge brownie and even a lavender Martini to wash it all down.
