Today’s roundup focuses on Pragmatic Play’s unusual take on carnivals and zombies. This comedic horror is suited for any kind of punter and is perfect for those who love the undead.
Calling all apocalypse theorists and gore fans. Pragmatic Play created a zombie apocalypse inspired carnival-themed video slot. Sensitive players can relax as the visuals have a softer spin and the developers remain on the civilised side of horror and zombification.
If you are looking for a new and unique zombie online slot to spin on, this review is especially for you. They packed the new title with entertaining sights, great music and sound effects, and the possibility of winning €500,000. Get your ticket, take your seat, and brace yourself for one heck of a circus act as the undead attempt to entertain you.
Zombie Carnival by Pragmatic Play
From one of the top developers in the industry comes a humoristic horror video slot to entertain and freak us out simultaneously. Step right up, one and all! Pragmatic Play invites us to spin their reels filled with nightmarish characters as the undead becomes festive in Zombie Carnival.
The developers mash up two favourite themes and give a comedic twist to a zombie-infested circus with performers looking for an alive and kicking audience. Instead of giggles and joy, this carnival offers screams and frights with the raspy caws coming as warnings from crows at the theme park.
✓ A Circus of Nightmares
This highly volatile online slot game draws players to the colourful world of the blood-thirsty ringleader and his troop of hungry performers and animals. Step into the festival grounds where the circus tent and carnival present ample entertainment but keep a lookout for the cartoonish zombies lurking. This carnival is unique as the hearts of the characters are dead, and their favourite snack is some fresh brains.
Take the 6 reels for a spin while fireworks light up the dusky sky and eerie ambient sounds hint at something sinister. Surrounded by a wooden light-bulb frame, the creators positioned the slot grid in the carnival circle. Glowing eyes peer from the house of horrors in the background, and the stunt cannon lies in the wake. Eerie music paired with carnival sounds brings a festive atmosphere, but one just can’t shake the feeling that something is off as the undead characters fill the reels.
✓ Zombie Clowns and Appetising Organs
Pragmatic Play presents the 6 x 4 video slot with a maximum number of 4096 pay ways that calculate wins from left to right. Low paying symbols come in the shape of 3D royals framed in gold, each with a circus prop of its own. The props come to life when wins trigger through animated effects matched with circus acts they use these in. Jack, Queen, King, and Ace pay between 0.20x and 0.70x when 3 to 6 of a kind land on adjacent reels.
The software developers depicted the mid-to-high paying symbols as caricature versions of a canon stuntman, ogre-like blue creature, ringleader, and a clown in line with the parody. All with mocking smiles and different tell-tales of their undead nature. Purely here for your entertainment and brains, these character symbols pay between 0.40x and 1x your stake for 3 of a kind. The maximum payout is between 1.5x and 5x your stake for 6 of a kind, with the clown as the premium symbol.
The base game has no Wild symbol, but there is a consolation prize in the form of a purple and gold gift box. These mystery symbols appear randomly and can land in any position on the grid. The bear Wild only appears in the bonus feature, and the brain Scatter symbol is key to this part of the slot game.
✓ Brain Picking Bonus Features
Every spin in the base game could present an unknown number of mystery gift symbols. These purple boxes with a pretty gold bow transform into any of the paying symbols on the reels to create winning combinations. Mystery symbols appear anywhere on the reels and could also show up during the Free Spins section.
A brain Scatter symbol is the trigger for the bonus game, and this delicacy lands on reels 2 to 5. When two or more of these organs land in one spin, players win 6 Free Spins. Once the Free Spin section launches, a zombie bear appears from behind the triggering Scatters and devours the vital organ. It then replaces the brain Scatter to become a sticky bear Wild symbol.
The main attraction of this video slot is the Free Spins, and during the show, the hungry bear devours every instance of a brain Scatter symbol that appears. This action increases the Wild multiplier and adds a spin to the counter. Win multipliers progress for the duration of the bonus feature and increase every winning combination it compliments.
Because the game has high volatility, the Free Spins feature may take a while to trigger organically, and it is wise to manage your bankroll accordingly. Some regions allow for the Bonus Buy at 80x your stake. If you are keen on a carnival slot with a dark twist, Zombie Carnival by Pragmatic Play is the right choice for you.
Keep Spinning with More Undead Characters?
Although Pragmatic Play’s new release caters to a broad range of players as it mixes humour and horror, we have other zombie-themed titles for hardcore players. Here are online slot releases that will get the adrenaline pumping.
✓ Zombie Invasion by Dragon Gaming
Dragon Gaming presents a great slot game for zombie fans as horrific zombies try to break down the wired fence surrounding their 5 x 3 classic grid. Zombie Invasion has a more gruesome look as the developers stayed in line with truly apocalyptic scenes and even named bonus features in accordance.
This medium to high volatility game offers 30 paylines with 10 paying symbols, a Wild, and Scatter. The synth-pop soundtrack gives an 80s feel. Low-paying symbols are metal royals covered in blood, while mid to high paying symbols are the characters who need to escape the city. Punters win anything between 5x and 500x their stake for 3 to 5 of a kind.
When a smoke bomb appears, the number of Wilds increases randomly for more winning potential and with 3 to 5 Scatters in view, players win 10 to 20 Free Spins. Lucky punters who have expanded zombie symbols on reels 1, 3, and 5 enter the bonus game. Select one of the five doors to reveal whether you survive or perish. Each door presents one of two options, and those who survive win a multiplier and an extra choice. Those who reach the fifth door win up to 10,000x their bet.
✓ Z Hunters by Gaming 1
Win up to 5,000x your stake with this Rock ‘n Roll zombie-themed online slot from Gaming 1. Take a spin on the wild side with these zombie hunting lunatics and take home your share of the horde. Three Z hunters present players with different enhancers, and their crazy laughs tell us they’ve been at it for a little too long.
The 5-reel, 3-row video slot has 20 paylines, and the software developers used brilliant music and sound effects to enhance gameplay. Royals and weapons present low to high returns starting from 0.20x for 3 of a kind and capping at 10x for 5 of a kind. The substitute Wild and Free Spins triggering Scatter does not reward money.
During the Horde Execution bonus feature, the three hunters collect a bounty from three different zombie symbols that could appear as stacked symbols for more bounty. The skilled zombie killers either collect, multiply and collect, or increase and collect the bounty, which ranges between 1x and 100x your stake.
