Las Vegas Casinos Level Up Their Sanitation in the Face of COVID-19

Las Vegas is stepping up efforts to try and curb potential Coronavirus risks to any tourists visiting the city after the first confirmed case was reported in Southern Nevada, Las Vegas.

Major casino operators such as MGM Resorts International that run the likes of Bellagio, and MGM Grand, among several other restaurants and spas on Las Vegas Boulevard, have already started taking the initiative.  For instance, all these gambling centers are installing extra hand sanitizers in high traffic areas, and according to Brian Ahern, the MGM spokesman, their properties are increasing the frequency of disinfectant protocols.

Likewise, a recent report from two Wynn Hotel-Casino employees indicated that visitor disinfecting machines had been doubled within the premises. In the table games section of the same casino, there are hand sanitizers installed for dealers. At the same time, bartenders have also been instructed to wipe down the counters after every 20 minutes.

At the Palazzo and Venetian, extra staff has been hired to every bathroom to sanitize counters, toilets, doors and handles. The gaming house has also procured additional sanitizers for the table games section, and they've made it mandatory to shred decks of cards after matches. These gambling properties are also disinfecting frequently touched areas like escalator railings and walls to maintain the highest sanitation standards.

Strip Club Offering Over 50,000 Bottles of Hand Sanitizers for Free

Given the seriousness of the matter, there's no doubt that everyone in Las Vegas has declared war on Coronavirus. Vegas Strip clubs are also at the forefront of this fight, and their management is taking no chances. Little Darlings, a celebrated strip club in the boulevard has stepped up by offering 50,000 free bottles of Hand Sanitizers to help curb the inadvertent spread of the virus. As long as supplies last, every customer at the club will receive a complimentary bottle of hand sanitizer.

This move by the Little Darlings gentlemen's club isn't all that farfetched if you consider the fact that hand sanitizers are reported to be the most effective way of protection against the virus. No wonder these hand sanitizers have been on high demand in Southern Nevada since the first case of infection was confirmed.

LeAnna DaPoint, one of the managers at Little Darlings released a statement saying that Las Vegas is an evergreen tourist hub and as such it is vital that they make the health of their guests a priority even as the show goes on.

Stock Value Continues to Plummet

However, amid all these sanitization efforts, the stock value of these Vegas Strip properties isn't getting any better. The shares are still taking blows like never before. For example, last Friday, Red Rocks Resorts took the biggest hit where it closed at $16.53 after it dipped by nearly 14%. Many other casino operator stocks also took hits including Boyd Gaming, Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts.
