Marvel Artist Creates Quirky and Provocative Pineapple and Pizza Mashup NFTs

While the internet is not the smart place to discuss politics, religion, or your opinion of the Game of Thrones season finale there is one topic that dwarfs all of these in its ability to create division.

This debate has torn families apart, shattered online communities and could be the reason that Ragnarök is eventually triggered – does pineapple belong on pizza?

Regardless of where you fall in this debate, you will have to agree that their goal of donating $50,000 to a mental health charity is admirable. Best of all they will allow the Piñazza community to determine which charity receives this windfall.

VIP Creating The Perfect Mashup

While we won’t share our opinion on the matter, for the sake of keeping the GamblersPick community unified. However visual artist Michael Lennicx has clearly chosen a side with the launch of the Piñazza NFT drop.

The well-regarded artist, whose clients include Marvel, Disney, Supercell, Nickelodeon, MTV, and Lego, has created a series of NFTs celebrating the tasty union:

“Piñazza (peen - YACHT - Zaaaa!) is a 2-part NFT drop celebrating two controversial bedfellows, Pineapple and Pizza, in a raucous marriage of immutable forbidden love, eternally captured on the blockchain.”

Their stance on the matter is clear with the website boldly declaring “We believe Pineapple and Pizza are best served together!”, to prove their dedication to this philosophy their NFTs are split into two categories – Pina’s and Pizzas.

They have even created a public pizza pie roadmap of what they hope to achieve with the sale of these NFTs and what the community can expect in return:

20% sold – 100 lucky members will be airdropped digital tokens
40% sold – They will create a digital wishing well where proceeds will benefit an American non-profit organization
60% sold – They will launch Piñazza merch with deals and giveaways for early adopters
80% sold – They will open Piñazza Pizza pop-up stores in London and New York for a week with event live streams for international fans
100% sold – The Pizza NFTs will be baked and $50,000 donated to a community nominated charity

The price is also very reasonable as far as NFT sales go with each of these crazy mashup designs only costing 0.05 ETH, which equates to about €165.

HODL Your Pina NFTs Close

The concept is a clever one. The initial offering is the sale of 10,000 uniquely generated Pina (pineapple) NFTs. Each of these creations is made up of five core components, namely a face, hair, arms, legs and background. Then there is a wild card, the chance to land a random and very rare sixth accessory.

Michael Lennicx, co-creator of Piñazza, said:

“In creating Piñazza, we pushed the boundaries of standard pfp NFTs: we explored character posing, extreme expressions, and more elaborate backgrounds. This resulted in a higher-end product and a wild variety of characters, some unpredictable, that I think will bring endless laughs and inspiration to the NFT community.”

In total, the number of available components means that there are up to 300 million potential Pina NFT variants up for grabs. To keep things exciting there are some very rare one-off variants that could be created such as a diamond skin Pina.

They have also created 50 NFTs known as “Piñazza Perfects”. These are fully designed characters based on recognisable pop culture icons. Given their limited availability, these will be the hottest and most valuable items on the platform.

But given the teams love of pineapple and pizza the fun doesn’t end there. Once the initial 10,000 Pina NFTs have been released the platform will begin releasing 10,000 exclusive Pizza NFTs to compliment the series.
