In a bid to tap into the burgeoning iGaming market in the USA and across the globe, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment has launched Mohegan Digital, a new division focused on its internet gaming and sports betting products.
Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment (MGE), the celebrated developer and operator of world-renowned integrated entertainment and casino resorts, has launched a new iGaming and online sports betting branch dubbed Mohegan Digital. The newfangled online casino and sportsbook division will focus on exploiting internet gaming opportunities via MGE’s online sports betting and Mohegan Sun online casino products to expand the company’s footprint locally and on a global scale.
The first item on Mohegan Digital’s to-do list is creating a top-tier iGaming and internet sports betting experience for Mohegan Sun Connecticut, MGE’s flagship property in The Nutmeg State. Mohegan Gaming’s latest announcement follows the ratification of a new tribal-state gaming expansion compact by Gov. Ned Lamont of Connecticut in late May. The Mohegan Tribal Nation and Mashantucket Pequot tribe, the two federally recognized tribes in Connecticut, had negotiated with Governor Lamont for months and finally reached an agreement to start offering iGaming in their tribal gaming facilities.
In light of the new developments, Ray Pineault, the President, and CEO of MGE voiced his enthusiasm in a statement saying:

A New Dawn for Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment
MGE has picked Rich Roberts as the President of Mohegan Digital. His primary responsibility is to oversee the new iGaming and online sports betting division operations, ensuring the brand’s overall success and steer it to greater heights. Part of Mr. Roberts’ role, as stated by MGE, will be working closely with management to develop a leading-edge digital product that will boost the company’s overall expansion strategy.
The newly appointed President of Mohegan Digital also shared his sentiments following his assumption to the new role as follows:

Before coming to steer MGE’s digital branch, Rich was an executive business consultant at RSD Consulting. It’s a firm that consults with organizations looking to make entry into the USA’s rapidly growing iGaming and digital media market. Prior to his work with RSD Consulting. Mr. Roberts was the CEO of FaceOff, an up-and-coming peer-to-peer skill/social sports gaming platform in the United States.
Aviram Alroy will be flanking Mr. Roberts as the Vice President Product in the new Mohegan Digital division. However, unlike Rich, Mr. Alroy has been part of the MGE fraternity for over seven years. Aviram joined the company in 2014 to take the VP position in MGE’s Interactive Gaming unit, which Mohegan Digital has now absorbed. It is, therefore, quite fitting that he has been appointed as the VP of the new digital division, given his contribution to the company when it started exploring the iGaming realm.
According to MGE's statement, Mr. Alroy will now be responsible for product strategy and the development and launch of iGaming websites and mobile apps for the company’s online casino and sports betting brands. The new VP Product also had a few words to say after his appointment as follows:

My years leading Mohegan Gaming and Entertainment Interactive Gaming division have equipped me with the necessary skills and vision to help usher in a new era for the brand now that we plan to enter not only Connecticut, but also Washington, Pennsylvania, the province of Ontario and more states in the future.”
