Jackpocket announces their largest lotto winner to date, as the New Jersey player lands a $9.4 million Pick-6 prize. The $1 ticket purchased through the third-party app sets the record for the largest jackpot won via a mobile game.
A woman from Union County, New Jersey, won a record-making lottery jackpot on 21 October 2021. Carol’s win breaks a five-month dry spell in the NJ lottery world as she walks away with $9.4 million.
According to Jackpocket, this is the largest prize won in the existence of US mobile lottery apps.
A Fortunate Habit
The lucky winner has been using the Jackpocket app for over a year and played 5 rows in the Pick-6 game. The $1 ticket had three rows of her own numbers, like birthdays and other special dates, and two rows of Quick Pick numbers.
Soon after the draw, she received a notification from the Jackpocket app claiming that she won a big prize. The “You won big!” message referred to her $9.4 million prize, and little did she know that a quick pick would make her the biggest winner in US history.
When she realised that she had just become a multi-millionaire, she screamed with excitement and woke her son to share the news. Carol works in the healthcare industry and plans to settle home and study debt with a part of the winnings. She wants to take care of her family with her newfound riches as well.
She admitted to being in a dream-like state since finding out that she now holds the record for winning the largest prize ever on Jackpocket. Carol’s jackpot is also the biggest prize to be won from playing on a mobile device. No one has matched all six numbers in the Pick-6 lotto for quite some time and with odds of 1 in 13,983,816, Lady Luck must truly be smiling on Carol.
Jackpocket Brings the Lotto to You
Jackpocket is the leading 3rd party app in the US and this is the second-largest jackpot that a player has won through the app this year. The app was the first regulated courier service in the country and launched in New Jersey in December 2019.
Peter Sullivan, Founder and CEO of Jackpocket commented:
“At Jackpocket, we want to meet users where they are and shepherd the future of lottery play so that it’s easily available to all who have a mobile device. We’re always excited to see our users win big.”
In January 2021, Jackpocket announced that one of their players won $1 million and since then they have enjoyed tremendous member growth. Their active player list increased by 838% and in 2021, close to 630,000 winners purchased their tickets through the app. Over 7,000 Jackpocket users enjoyed multiple winnings of $100 or more.
Since the app’s launch, approximately 120,000 players won a combined prize value of $26 million. Sullivan continued:
“This win not only allows us to reflect on the industry’s immense growth in New Jersey, but also across the U.S. The Jackpocket team is invigorated by this historic moment.”
The company’s mission is to offer convenience and create a fun and responsible way to play the lottery.
2021 could still see more Pick-6 millionaires as a seed amount for the jackpot reset to $2 million. Remember – The lottery is a game of chance, and you should always play responsibly and within your means.
