€1,000,000 to be collected by the Ksa: JOI Gaming was found guilty of using celebrities in its online casino and sports betting advertising. The advertisements focused on promoting the Jack’s Racing Day event in 2023. The Dutch regulator intends to claim the maximum penalty of €1 million.
€607,000 to be collected by the Swedish Gambling Authority: Kanon Gaming was found guilty of not providing adequate safeguards to ensure that the players at their three online casinos were protected against excessive spending and other gambling harms. This failure resulted in a fine of SEK 7 million.
€384,000 to be collected by the Norwegian Lottery Authority: Norsk Tipping erroneously paid one of its players NOK 25 million (€2.1 million), a far more significant amount than the legislated maximum game win of NOK 100,000 (€8,500) or jackpot prize cap of NOK 5 million (€425,000). For this violation, they have been fined NOK 4.5 million.

According to a look at the broader gambling industry, regulators have racked up nearly €80 million in fines since 1 January 2024, with Australia leading the charge with an astronomical AU$67 million (€41.2 million) penalty against one of its licensed land-based casinos.
