Saskatchewan Welcomes the First (And Only) Legal Online Gambling Site

In an exciting new era of entertainment for Saskatchewan residents, the first and only legal online gambling site launched on the 3rd of November, 2022.

PlayNow.com offers legal online gambling and sports betting to Saskatchewan players thanks to a deal between the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and The British Columbia Lottery Corporation.

SIGA is the sole operator of the new online gambling platform, and it has been made clear that this will be the only legal site for players in the province.

 PlayNow Welcomes New Players

PlayNow originally launched in 2004 and offered players in British Columbia the chance to purchase lottery tickets online. From there, the site expanded in 2010 to provide online blackjack, craps, and roulette. This made it the first legal online casino in Canada, but residents wanted more.

After the deal between SIGA and the BCLC was signed, PlayNow has provided even more for players from Saskatchewan to enjoy. The range of gambling options now includes online slots, table games, sports betting, poker and bingo. 

SIGA president and CEO Zane Hansen commented on the launch of the site, saying:

“We are excited to be the exclusive provider of Saskatchewan’s first and only legal online gaming site, which will provide a safe and secure option for residents to play their favourite casino games and bet on their favourite sports teams online.

Residents will be pleased to know that when they play on the PlayNow.com site, the proceeds are reinvested back into the province. Similar to the existing brick-and-mortar casinos in the province, all net proceeds from the PlayNow.com site are reinvested back into Saskatchewan.”

It has been announced that further expansion of the site will take place in 2023, with even more live casino and poker options coming soon.

 What PlayNow has to offer

Thanks to the partnership between Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and SaskGaming that was signed in June 2022, there are 400 titles available for players to choose from.

The lottery products that are popular in the region are still available, while the Casino and Sports sections of the site have been filled with exciting options.
