Scientific Games Expands African Reach with Moroccan Lottery

While the Scientific Games is not an unknown face in the halls of online casino game providers the company does have a much longer history with land-based gambling.

The American company operates out of Las Vegas and has been supplying the global gambling trade with a variety of engaging casino, interactive and instant lottery games since 1973.

Earlier Scientific Game announced that they would be continuing their vision for becoming the world’s leading supplier of casino and games with an agreement with SISAL S.p.A. (SISAL).

Pat McHugh, Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games, said:

"We are honoured by the continued trust that SISAL has placed in our ability to deliver a variety of value-added products and services that maximizes sales and proceeds for a number of their international lottery operations. We are particularly excited about supporting the national lottery in Morocco and deploying our games and technology in the African market."

The agreement will see Scientific Games provide Italian gaming operator SISAL with a range of gambling products including lottery instant games, instant digital betting games and their bespoke WAVE lottery retailer terminals.

Italian Run Moroccan Lottery

Recognising the value of a strongly managed local lottery, and their lack of on the ground resources to do the task justice, the Moroccan government opened the concession for bidding in 2018.

Scientific Games already provide full-service support for more than 150 lotteries across 50 countries, making them SISAL’s go-to partner for this expansion into Morocco. With the combined experience of the parties involved SISAL was won the bid in early 2019.

Winning the rights to Morocco’s national lottery (Societe de Gestion de la Loterie Nationale) awarded SISAL a 10-year concession, making them the regions sole supplier of lottery and lottery-style games. This is in addition to the lottery bids which they have successfully acquired in both Italy and Morocco, all with the aid of Scientific Games who has provided SISAL with lottery technology and support since 1997.
