The other ‘man of the match’ in the Buccaneers vs Chiefs Super Bowl skirmish won’t be enjoying his payday after he spent $50k betting on his comical appearance on the fourth quarter of the game.
Tom Brady cemented his reputation as the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL in the recently played Super Bowl LV clash after he led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to victory against the favorite Kansas City Chiefs. Brady was tackled once whereas Patrick Mahomes the Chiefs quarterback succumbed to three tackles. But to a lot of viewers of the match, those weren’t the only memorable tackles of the match.
The ‘play of the game’ as some spectators humorously called it, didn’t even involve players from either team. With just about five minutes before the final whistle was blown, a streaker later identified as Yuri Andrade, a 31-year-old man from Florida, briefly interrupted the Buccaneer’s final dash to scooping the Lombardy trophy.
He found his way into the field spotting a hot-pink one-piece and had a surprisingly successful run to the three-yard line as he evaded the security team at Raymond James Stadium. Everyone else cheered and jeered while taking photos before he was stopped by deputy Clint Stearns of the Hillsborough County (Fla.) Sheriff’s Office.
Kevin Harlan, a prominent play by play commentator for Westwood One Radio even called the streaker out as he covered the game saying;
Quote“Pull up your pants, take off the bra and BE A MAN!”
Six-Figure Financial Motive of the Streaker
However, after this rib-cracking stunt, it later became known that Yuri Andrade wasn’t just doing it for the rush. He had actually put some money on himself, placing a pre-match wager that the Big Game on Sunday night would have a streaker.
Later it came to be known that Andrade had spent worth $50,000 at +750 and the payout he was to collect stood at over $374,000, had the truth not been discovered, or rather, had he kept his mouth shut!
Instead of sitting tight and waiting for his handsome reward after getting his 15 minutes of fame and a misdemeanor charge with a $500 bail, Andrade couldn’t keep it to himself. Reports emerged on social media of his secret to beating the bookies after he let in a couple of his friends on the secret.
Furthermore, he even went as far as disclosing the information to a local Tampa radio station, saying that he and several of his friends had placed wagers on different accounts at the Bovada online sportsbook that a streaker would be disrupting the match.
Bovada Rushes to Establish the Integrity of Streaker Bets

Besides, the offshore sportsbook also disclosed its plans to refund any losing wagers for the said market while still honoring those who had won the bet without any direct involvement with the streaker.

So, unfortunately for the streaker, it doesn’t seem that he will be getting his huge payday after all. Moreover, per reports from media house Front Office sports, accounts that were found to have direct knowledge of Andrade’s actions have also been permanently banned for policy violations.
