80 Ball Bingo
Overview
After emerging in bingo halls, 80 ball bingo has also become a popular variant at online bingo sites. While the original version is known as “shutter bingo”, for the fact that one of the numbers is hidden, this antiquated element has been removed whenever 80 bingo is played online. Compared to classic bingo, 80 ball bingo is a faster version that appeals to speed-oriented players.
Rules
In 80 ball, the bingo card is arranged as a square grid with four rows and four columns that can house sixteen numbers. As the game plays out, 80 balls are drawn from the bingo machine. Along the way, players can mark the numbers off the grid in the hope that they can be one of the earliest to achieve a specified set of incentivised outcomes.
Card Design
The first column in 80 ball bingo houses four random numbers from one to 20, while the second column holds 21 to 40. The third column then holds four random numbers from 41 to 60 and the fourth column can display any four numbers from 61 to 80. When playing online, the numbers will be automatically marked when called.
Ways to Win
In 80 ball bingo, the prize-winning conditions are relatively similar to those in 90 ball or 75 ball. Players can be rewarded for matching the first line, second line, or third line. To clarify, those lines can be matched in different directions, including horizontal, vertical, or diagonal. However, the main way to win will be for the first player to match all of their numbers for a full house.
Pattern Wins
Comparatively, 80 ball bingo is more similar to 75 ball than 90 ball because of the ability to match patterns in some versions of the game. The most common examples include matching four corners and the square of numbers running along the outside of the bingo card.
