Bonus Spot Keno
Overview
Keno was first played in 7th century China before arriving in 19th century America with immigrants. Now played at online casino sites, classic keno has diversified to spawn a handful of popular variants. And the one that will feature here is bonus spot keno, which offers the chance of triggering higher multipliers.
Bonus spot keno was first played in January 2016 at Las Vegas’ Rampart Casino. To the casual observer, bonus spot keno is played out with similar rules to classic keno. For the player, they have the consideration of selecting a ticket with two to 10 numbers. While backing fewer numbers can be cheaper, the highest rewards are reserved for matching multiple numbers.
Tickets & Numbers
When playing bonus spot keno online, the user interface should display how many numbers must be matched on your ticket before winnings shall be paid out. For comparison, five numbers will be needed on a ticket with 10 numbers, whereas only two will be required on a ticket with only two numbers selected. To clarify, matches are termed as “catches” in all forms of online keno.
In the course of a round of bonus spot keno, the random number generator (RNG) is programmed to draw 20 numbers from a basket of 80 balls that range from 1 to 80. Once all 80 of the balls have been drawn, the round is concluded and the player’s ticket will be compared with results to determine if any winnings must be awarded based on their performance.
With bonus spot keno, the player can receive a higher 4x payout if they catch their number on the first ball that is drawn. In this variant, there will also be a number declared as the “bonus spot”. If any of the 20 numbers drawn match the bonus spot on the player’s ticket, then this will earn them a 4x multiplier on their winnings.
