Buster Blackjack is another game variation with a special side bet developed by Nyx Gaming. Overall, this is your classic blackjack game with an extra option if you don't mind giving the house more edge for your shot at a big payout. Unlike most side bets, this one has to do with the dealer's hand.

It is important to note that outside of the side bet, Buster Blackjack plays like an ordinary blackjack game, with players allowed to split any pair once and double down if the first two cards add up to 9, 10, or 11. The blackjack pays 3 to 2.

Buster Blackjack Special Rules

As mentioned, the side bet in Buster Blackjack relates to the dealer's hand. For your bet to win, it is first necessary for the dealer to bust, i.e. get a score of 22 or more. Your final payout will depend on the number of cards it takes for the dealer to bust, and the higher the number, better the payout.

• Bust with three or four cards: 2 to 1
• Bust with five cards: 4 to 1
• Bust with six cards: 18 to 1
• Bust with seven: 50 to 1
• Bust with eight: 250 to 1

For the biggest payouts, you'll want the dealer to bust when you're dealt a blackjack. In this event, you'll get paid 800 to 1 and 2,000 to 1 for a seven and eight card bust, respectively.

Like most side bets variations, Buster Blackjack isn't favorable to players. However, the house edge isn't that huge, standing at around 6.2%. It is a gamble that may be worth taking occasionally to try and get that huge 2,000 to 1 payout.
