Games Global Brings Assassin’s Creed to the Online Casino Floor
By Shane Addinall Feb 11, 2025 EntertainmentAssassin’s Creed is making its online casino debut! Games Global has secured a deal with Ubisoft to create four action-packed slot games based on the iconic franchise. Discover what’s in store for players and why this partnership is a game-changer.When it comes to iconic video game franchises, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed is one of the best. Originally released in 2007, the franchise has continued to wow fans of historically themed action-adventure gaming, resulting in the company releasing more than 20 titles across consoles, PCs, and mobile platforms.
With assassin-themed video games selling more than 230 million copies worldwide, the upcoming crossover into Online Slots is a no-brainer.
The games are aimed at adults, offer developers a wide range of countries and aesthetics to explore, are deeply rooted in a variety of occult and pseudo-religious beliefs, and lend themselves to the ideas of archaeology and treasure hunting.
Four New Action-Adventure Games Inbound
Despite the hype around the announcement, neither Ubisoft nor Games Global have been forthcoming regarding what can be expected.
Andy Booth, Chief Product Officer at Games Global, said:
Quote“Ubisoft is a true pioneer in the entertainment industry and has cultivated a catalogue of household franchises in the video game sector. This partnership enables Games Global to deliver impactful content to players worldwide by combining the engaging lore of Assassin's Creed with the strength of its iconic brand.”
What we do know is that Games Global has been awarded a limited license to produce four casino games based on the Assassin’s Creed intellectual properties.
The official press release by Games Global confirmed that these titles would be video slots and that they would be “story-driven slots centred around the iconic Order of Assassins”.
We do not know if they will be added to the lore of the franchise's expansive universe, nor if it will be based on pre-existing game characters and settings or invite players to enjoy wholly new stories.
Fantastic Timing for Ubisoft
The approval and announcement of this agreement could not have come at a better time for Ubisoft, as the video game developer has been under pressure of late to prove its value to shareholders.
Despite holding the rights to some fantastic IPs, including Assassin’s Creed and Star Wars, the French video game developer has failed to launch any standout games in the past few years.
The failure of its Star Wars Outlaws game and the controversy surrounding its upcoming video game set in Japan reportedly caused the studio to see its stock price plummet 54% at the start of 2025, a new 10-year low for the company.
Deals of this magnitude are not inked overnight, so it is unlikely that Ubisoft's decision to rent out its IP was a knee-jerk reaction to its poor fiscal performance. However, the timing could not have been more fortuitous.
