Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Plans A Further $20 Million Investment
By Shane Addinall May 05, 2021 IndustryThe Hard Rock Resort stays true to its American roots with an additional $20 million investment in the future of the hotel and casino complex. Why are they so bullish and what exactly will $20 million buy? While the Las Vegas Sands Group has been hard at work divesting itself of two key Vegas properties in order to bolster its investment in China, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City is supporting the American gambling industry with an additional $20 million capital investment.
The owners of the hotel and resort are bullish about the future of the venue as an Atlantic City hotspot based on the last seven consecutive months of increased foot traffic and revenue growth.
Flying the American Flag
The plan for the additional funding is to ensure that, with the easing of restrictions and the notable increase in visitors to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, their patrons have access to only the absolute best amenities.
Joe Lupo, President of Hard Rock Atlantic City, said:
"Our growth over the past year during unprecedented circumstances speaks to guests' trust in our property and enjoyment of their experiences, which we will continue to evolve and improve."
The planned renovations will include the unveiling of a new Starbucks and a new restaurant, the expansion of the casino floor to include the new slot machines and table games, plus an overhaul of the beachfront amenities for those who prefer their fun in the sun.
From Strength to Strength
The redevelopment of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City made headlines in 2017 when it was converted from the Trump Taj Mahal into its present incarnation for the princely sum of $500 million.
"The commitment of these capital dollars from our ownership proves their devotion to enhancing our guest experience, along with the revitalization of Atlantic City and our property which opened after a $500 million renovation less than three years ago."
The gamble appears to have paid off for the Seminole Indian tribe of Florida, who own and operate the venue, given their commitment to its expansion and ongoing improvements.
Some of the improvements planned for the $20 million budget include:
- Bringing on board Klai Juba Wald Architecture + Interiors to renovate and modernise 66 Celebrity and 25 Roxy suites.
- The purchase of flatscreen television monitors and LED lighting for all remaining standard hotel rooms.
- Upgrading the restrooms and purchasing 1000 beach chairs for the Hard Rock Beach Bar.
- Upgrades to the audio-visual equipment at both Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena and Sound Waves to support the latest headliner entertainment they have planned.
- Increased capacity and new gaming machines in the Asian and High Limit areas.
All of these improvements and new developments will position the Hard Rock Atlantic City to be a central attraction in both the gambling and entertainment space through 2021 and into the coming years.
