UFC Heavyweight Steps Up to Champion Aviator Crash Game
By Shane Addinall Apr 09, 2025 IndustryTom Aspinal, the interim UFC heavyweight champion, has been appointed as a brand ambassador for the crash game Aviator. The megastar joins a growing list of UFC stars leveraging their fame to promote the popular game actively. With an increasingly tech-savvy generation looking for immersive and snappy experiences, the online gaming industry has seen a rise in popularity of the simpler yet thoroughly engaging crash games niche.
Almost seven years since Spribe launched the popular Aviator game, it and the broader crash game scene have become firm favourites with players and operators across the globe. Growth that has led to crash games regularly representing a significant portion of the top ten most popular casino games.
The popularity of the genre is ascribed to the simplicity of its format. Players bet on the outcome of a multiplying curve until, as the vertical’s name suggests, the curve crashes, with players able to cash out before the “crash point” to earn a multiple of their wager, or lose their stake.
Such is the popularity of crash games that Spribe CEO David Natroshvili recently stated that he expected them to overtake the prominence of slots at online casinos. He attributed his bold prediction to the games’ engaging mechanics and broad demographic appeal, particularly among Millennials and Gen Z players.
UFC Heavyweight Superstar Aspinal to Promote Aviator
Crash games such as Aviator are all about the rush of adrenaline, with players on the edge of their seats trying to decide on the optimal moment to cash out.
On the subject of adrenaline-fuelled activities, with Aviator now the official crash game of the UFC, Spribe has added another super-athlete to its roster of UFC brand ambassadors. Tom Aspinal will join megastar Alex Pereira to actively promote the game.
Aspinal, currently the interim UFC heavyweight champion, is considered by many to be the undisputed king of the heavyweight division, with his next fight a scheduled bout with the legendary Jon Jones to unify the belts.
On being appointed as an official brand ambassador for Aviator, an enthusiastic Tom Aspinal was quoted as saying:
Quote“Taking flight in Aviator is just as thrilling as stepping into the octagon on fight night, so I’m excited for my fans to experience what the game has to offer. The team at Spribe have some great campaigns planned for the coming months, which I’m excited to be a part of as we work together to ensure that Aviator really takes flight.”
This comes mere weeks after Spribe announced that they had signed a multi-year contract with TKO Group Holdings, parent company of UFC and the WWE, that would see the Aviator logo prominently displayed on the UFC octagon canvas at every event worldwide.
Growing List of UFC Fighters Collaborating with Aviator
The interim heavyweight champ has joined a group of fellow UFC athletes, such as Alex Pereira, Johnny Walker and Merab Dvalishvili, aiming to leverage their media presence to promote the online casino game, reflecting Spribe’s strategy of aligning with high-profile UFC stars to enhance the game’s visibility.
The high-profile collaborations between entertainers, sports personalities and other media celebrities acting as online gambling brand ambassadors have proven to be lucrative and mutually beneficial associations and an industry trend that is sure to continue.
