By Shane Addinall Mar 09, 2022 IndustryMaltese gaming developer, Wazdan, announces their 18th regulated market entry. Dutch platforms may offer 23 of their top-performing titles to players in the Netherlands.Wazdan, the pioneering software provider, secured certification for a collection of their top-performing casino games from the Dutch gambling regulator, Kansspelautoriteit. The Netherlands marks the igaming company’s 18th jurisdiction and players from the region can look forward to fan-favourite titles and exclusive features.
The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) recently confirmed the expiry of their ‘cooling-off’ period and that they will review applications for operators who withdrew from the Netherlands to obtain a licence. The timing of Wazdan’s gaming certification places them in a sweet spot ahead of big names in the industry.
Dutch players can look forward to 23 top-performing Wazdan titles available to them, including the popular Hold the Jackpot series.
Wazdan: A Creative and Passionate Team
Founded in 2010, this team of highly ambitious gaming professionals set out to bring players unrivalled titles. Recently, the Malta-based company gained prized accreditation to the West Virginia market and Belarus and Greece markets. Wazdan boasts accreditation from some of the most revered regulators in the industry, such as the UK Gambling Commission, Sweden, and their home base regulator, Malta Gaming Authority.
The company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Andrzej Hyla, commented:
“We pride ourselves on our commitment to regulated markets and are very pleased to have received certification for 23 of our titles in the Netherlands.”
Wazdan’s team offers players unique features like customisable volatility levels, faster game modes, and data saving modes. It is unclear which operator libraries will include Wazdan titles, but the company’s press release includes slot titles available to Dutch players.

The incredibly popular Hold the Jackpot series which includes hit titles like Fortune Reels, Power of Gods: Hades, Sun of Fortune, and Sizzling Moon, are part of the 23 certified games. Hyla said:
“We look forward to seeing the impact that our games can have on the operators in the region.”

The Best is Yet to Come for Dutch iGaming
Although the Dutch online gambling market launched with 10 licensed platform operators, the success of a regulated industry took many by surprise. Dutch Minister, Sander Dekker, and KSA Chairman, Rene Jansen, asserted that they underestimated the market potential.
Two months after the launch in October 2021, the government adjusted the projected market size from €580 million to €814 million in gross gaming revenues. In December, the KSA added the 11th operator to their list of licensed providers and currently 13 operators enjoy the spoils of the Dutch regulated market.
The competition will increase once the KSA unveils which operators-in-waiting receives licences after 1 April. Kindred Group, LeoVegas, Entain, and Betsson are some of the possible new entrants following their application review, providing Dutch players with more high-quality platforms presenting thrilling content libraries.
