By Zvon Potocki Dec 27, 2020 InterviewsGamblersPick talks to Nir Ronen, the COO of Spinomenal, with special focus on the biggest achievements of 2020 and the plans for the upcoming year.As another year comes to a close, companies in the iGaming industry are wrapping it up and counting their successes. We were lucky enough to talk to Nir Ronen, the COO of Spinomenal, about how 2020 went for them and what plans they have for the future. We bring you the interview in full, loaded with interesting details about this quickly growing industry giant.
GP: Hello, and thank you for taking the time to address our readers. Before we move to anything too specific, can you tell us a little bit about Spinomenal as a company in general? You were founded in 2014, and it's been some years now. What would you say was your significant improvement? What differ you from other providers?
Nir Ronen, COO: Since we first step foot in the industry, we set high goals for ourselves as a company. It is more than just saying, "We will be the number 1 provider in the industry". It is about executing it by forming strong business relationships and developing high-end products.
As you are probably familiar with, we are aiming both to Real money games and social games. Over the past six years, we have managed to secure a solid reputation as a primary content provider in the industry. It was not that easy from the start, as for every company in this industry, but we had a clear vision and a dedicated team, which pushed itself to the limit.
In 2018, our major leap occurred when we launched our new platform and released what became one of our most successful games- Demi Gods II. This major hit was critical to our initial entry into each operators’ top spots. The effect was that players became familiar with our brand and were also interested in our other products.
We leveraged this momentum and released quickly high-quality games with our new platform, and the momentum kept going ever since.
Following this successful year, we have tripled up our team, and today we have offices in Malta, Ukraine, and of course, Israel, which remains the headquarters for our R&D and Management departments.
Looking back, I can indicate two essential aspects that drove this growth. As mentioned before, the first one is our personal relationships with the industry's giants that have years of experience and from whom we keep learning about players' preferences in each market. The second is our ability to produce more quality and diverse variety of games than any other provider.
Both aspects come to expression through our rich portfolio and the additional products we have created.
Following our success, we invested a lot over the past year in terms of regulations- we received our MGA license and certified our games for numerous territories.
GP: Over the years, you have made a name for yourselves among online casino players with some fantastic slot games. What would you say are your top slots to this date, and which games would you recommend our readers who have not played Spinomenal games in the past to try first? Also, what do you think to differ your slots from other providers?
Nir Ronen, COO: Well…I would say this is quite a general question. It depends on which market we are speaking of. We have games aiming for different preference of players from worldwide markets. This is also how we differ from other providers; we have a vast portfolio, and, in our lobby, each player can find a game to his/her taste. However, here and there, we can find surprises such as 4 Horsemen II & Demi-Gods IV, which became a great success in all markets.
We are also the first company that started the Branded and Exclusive games trend. We offer our valued clients an opportunity to launch exclusive games that we produce for them, based on their players' preferences. From time to time, we also offer them to relaunch a branded version of their players' favourite Spinomenal game.
GP: Spinomenal hit a major milestone back in May when you were handed the MGA gaming license. Can you talk a little about how this has impacted the company and what it means for your future? Can we expect to see a major spread of Spinomenal games across MGA licensed online casinos in the months to come?
Nir Ronen, COO: The funny thing is that when we started approaching major MGA brands, we realized that the demand for our games is very high. As opposed to our first baby steps within the industry, when everything went difficult, and we had to build our reputation from scratch, this time we had the privilege of enjoying major brands approaching us, requesting our games.
Before we even finished preparing our games to be launched under MGA, we already had numerous closed deals, which is one outstanding achievement.
Players can look forward to more brands to join in soon.
GP: We have seen a massive Halloween & Christmas Network promotion that you have launched across major operators such as 1XBET and Pinup. Can you shed some light on the process of creating such a tournament? What should we expect for the upcoming holidays in terms of Network promotions?
Nir Ronen, COO: The initiative of network promotions came from the operators themselves. They approached us with a request for a tournament tool or a more extensive scale promotion. As always, we love listening to our operators and learn from them, and so was in this case.
With the outstanding work being done by the product team, the execution was flawless: Over 200 brands participated in our Halloween tournament, over 120,900 players won at least one draw ticket, and almost 4.2 Million draw tickets were collected. The impact was enormous and can also be seen in our inner retention data.
It was the perfect opening shot to our Holiday promotions marathon that peaked with our current running Jingle Wins €50K Christmas Network tournament. Over 250 brands are taking part in this tournament and we’re receiving amazing feedbacks from our operators so far.
GP: Last quarter of the year, you are probably looking planning for 2021- could you share some future? What should you players fan community and operators should look for? Any new markets you are planning to take over?
Nir Ronen, COO: Well… we kind of like to hold our cards close to the chest; however, I can only say that our plans are far beyond new games, as we have some unique & renovative products we are working on. 2021 is going to be full of Spinomenal surprises.
GP: Thank you again for taking the time to talk to us during this hectic season. We look forward to seeing all the surprises you have in store for us in 2021 and wish you a productive amazing new year
