Live Casino Expansion Dominates the Global Online Gambling Market
By Shane Addinall Feb 18, 2023 TechnologyLive casino gambling continues to be a hot topic in the industry, with Evolution partnering with Flutter, Quickspin Live planning its first game release, and a Canadian mobile game developer setting down roots in the industry. We have all seen the incredible rise to the prominence of live casino gaming over the years. The reason for this is far more straightforward than you would think – gambling was an incredibly social activity until prohibition pushed it underground. Even then, it offered a very taboo sense of camaraderie.
The invention of online gambling was fantastic in that it allowed people to enjoy their favourite casino games without having to go to the expense of travelling to a land-based casino. Due to the market not yet regulated, it was once again a taboo hobby, with many players keeping their activities secret from friends and loved ones.
The intersection of licensing and live dealer games allowed people to enjoy the social side of gaming. Nothing is more entertaining than sitting around a table chatting with fellow players and the croupier while playing blackjack, roulette, craps, or any of the newer game show-themed titles.
The Latest Live Gaming Updates
Here is some of the latest news regarding the live casino gambling sector:

Our ambition is to provide them [new generation of players] with high quality, entertainment-first games that they can play and enjoy together.”
The company’s first game in this niche will be Big Bad Wolf Live. The developer has not been forthcoming on what players can expect from the new title but has confirmed that it will be available towards the end of June 2023. Details will be rolled out closer to the game launch.
We will review this game when it launches, so be sure to check back for more information on Big Bad Wolf Live and the other quarterly live dealer game releases the developer promised to deliver.
✓ Evolution Gaming Expands its UK Portfolio
The respected leader in live casino gaming, Evolution Gaming, has signed a content provider agreement with Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG). The landmark agreement means that the full Evolution live dealer games will be available at Sky Vegas, Sky Bet, Sky Bingo, Paddy Power and Betfair.

While the specific timeline for the rollout of the group’s suite of live dealer titles has not been released, it was mentioned that fans of games like Crazy Time and Lightning Roulette would be able to play them in 2023.
✓ Canadian iGaming Dev Brings Live Casino to Mobile
Established in 1985, Playgon Games has a long history of creating engaging games with a specific focus on developing cutting-edge mobile casino games. The Canadian company is now looking to expand its scope to include mobile-first live dealer games.
Darcy Krogh, President and CEO of Playgon Games, said,
Quote“This ICE-London event was one of the best shows I have attended over the past 20 years. There was strong interest in our innovative mobile Live Dealer product and it's an exciting time for the company's future given some of the opportunities created due to the conference.”
The company is currently looking to increase its number of licensing agreements and create a series of strategic partnerships that will allow it to expand its presence across Europe. The partnerships will enable them to establish several local live-streaming studios that can offer their mobile live casino games in the region's native language.
What Could the Future Hold?
We can only be hopeful as we look to the future of live dealer casino games and their development trajectory. With the currently limited technology at our disposal, developers like Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play and others are already offering incredibly immersive live-streamed entertainment. With the advancements in machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep fake-adjacent avatar and voice integration, the potential for gambling rooms that feel more like science fiction than science-reality is at our fingertips.
