Stake Eyes New Technology Hub as Part of its Latin America Expansion
By Shane Addinall May 14, 2024 TechnologyStake Casino is expanding its Bitcoin gambling operation in LATAM with a new tech hub in Bogota, a platform provider agreement in Peru, and licensing access to Mexico and Paraguay.Industry pundits have long known Latin America as the online gambling industry's sleeping giant. The region holds incredible untapped potential due to its large population size, deep affinity for gambling, and rapidly advancing mobile internet penetration.
One of the main stumbling blocks to its development as an online gambling hub has been the ability of casino operators to transfer their revenue out of the country. This problem has become less of a concern since the launch of Bitcoin.
Stake Leads the LATAM Charge
Leading cryptocurrency casino operator Stake.com has been outspoken about its plans to expand its South American operations in 2024 and beyond.
Easygo, the software developer and platform provider behind Stake Casino, announced it will install a new technology hub to facilitate the company's LATAM growth plans as part of this intensive expansion program.
Brais Pena Sanchez, Chief Strategy Officer at Easygo, said:
Quote“We are thrilled to reaffirm our dedication to Latin America with the launch of our Bogotá hub. Latin America represents a burgeoning market for the online gaming industry, and our presence in Bogotá positions us to better serve our expanding player base in the region.”
The company's strategic decision to expand its operations in Latin America aligns with its recent acquisition of Betfair Colombia and the successful launch of the Colombian-focused gambling site Stake.com.co, showcasing its ability to seize opportunities and drive growth.
The Fun Has Just Begun
The company plans to establish a tech hub and expand its platform in Colombia, with further licensing and expansion across South America. This expansion will create job opportunities, with approximately fifty local staff members to be hired to manage daily operations, demonstrating the company's commitment to supporting local economies.
Diana Otalora, Stake General Manager for LATAM, explained:
Quote“Our objective is to bring the thrill of our gaming platforms to players across Latin America. With the launch of our hub, we are poised to deliver exceptional gaming experiences and foster enduring connections with our players.”
The company is in the process of acquiring a gambling license in Peru. It will partner with iGaming platform provider TG Lab to create a standout casino product for the rapidly expanding Peruvian gambling market. This part of the expansion goes hand in hand with its already secured access to Mexico and Paraguay.
While it sounds like there are many moving parts to manage, crypto casino fans in the region can expect world-class Spanish casino content, including localised casino games and customer support, to ensure the ideal online gambling experience.
