    Overview

Microgaming have long been one of the top software developers in the online gambling arena and their Caribbean Draw Poker game is one of those that gamblers all over the world have been enjoying for years. The game features both a base game which pits the player against the dealer and a progressive jackpot which allows players to pool money on every hand played, with the eventual winner winning an eye watering lump sum of money.

Caribbean Draw Poker by Microgaming is a classic draw poker game. The player and the dealer are dealt five cards each once the player posts an ante bet. The player can see all his cards as well as one of the dealer’s cards immediately. The player then has the option of changing up to two of his cards and deciding if they will double their ante bet to keep playing or fold their hand.

Whether the player changes any of their cards or not before clicking Raise, the dealer’s hand is exposed. The dealer will only qualify for the hand if he holds a pair of eights or better. If the dealer does not qualify, the player wins double money on the ante bet and gets his other bet back. If the dealer qualifies, the two hands are compared based on standard poker hand rankings and if the player’s hand is a winner, they receive payouts ranging from even money to 100:1 for royal flush.

The Progressive Jackpot and the Design

The game of Caribbean Draw Poker by Microgaming offers another great option for players in its progressive jackpot. Players can choose to place money on the Bonus field and compete for extra payouts. In order to receive any bonus payouts, the player must win the hand by dealer qualifying first. Winning hands are paid out based on a separate paytable, with players receiving the entire amount of the progressive jackpot if they find a royal flush.

The one slight downside of Caribbean Draw Poker is that the game simply looks somewhat old and compared to many other table games you can find in today’s online casinos, the gameplay looks and feels a bit outdated. Nevertheless, the sheer excitement that the game offers can make for many hours of great fun.
