  1. Using Your Credit Card In Online Casinos In today's technology-driven world, it was only a matter of time before online casinos started taking credit cards. Almost all online casinos will take your credit card and deposit money into your online casino account upon your request. That means you should already know which credit card you should use once you determine you want to put your casino account on your favorite plastic credit or debit card. There are almost online casino choices, but finding some credit cards offer top tier credit card options for depositing and withdrawing money. That's why the rate of people using credit cards for online casinos is growing. Read on and discover in the guide below what some of the online casino terms are per credit card and why it may be the one you want to start using. Online Casinos It's essential to understand the sheer number of online casino choices that are available to you that are now set up to use your credit or debit cards. You can now go to credit card gambling sites that include but aren't limited to online casinos, mobile casinos, sportsbooks/sports betting, poker rooms, and more. It's common for any online casino player only to want to use top-tier and secure online casinos before they indiscriminately start using their credit cards to withdraw or deposit money into a casino account. The three most common criteria players like to see when using an online casino that uses their credit cards for withdrawals and deposits is a legitimate body license, independent regulation, and valid SSL encryption. What exactly does that mean for credit card withdraws and deposits? #1 Legitimate Body License Every casino, whether it's online or not, should have a legitimate licensing body for their bricks and mortar casino or online casino website. The possession of that legitimate license means they are operating as a legal online casino. Different countries have different legitimate licensing bodies, but in the UK, one of them is the UK Gambling Commission. The UK Gambling Commission was set up in 2005, and it is an independent non-departmental public body that receives money and support from the UK government for culture, media, and sport. In essence, they are the regulator for all commercial gambling operators, including regulating lotteries. It is the online casino license that best represents that a casino can operate legally, so you feel more secure in providing your credit card information for deposits and withdrawals. #2 Independent Regulation Not only do online casinos have to be licensed, but they also have to be regulated for security reasons by an independent authority. A common independent authority regulatory is eCOGRA. eCOGRA was established in 2003 and is an independent body that is an approved testing agency that specializes in certification of any online software and systems used in gaming. #3 Valid SSL Encryption Finally, the epitome of security needs a valid SSL encryption certificate for online casinos. That's because encryption is one way you can ensure that if data is being exchanged between your credit card and the online casino, it is safe to use. The online casino's secure encryption ability should avail itself to credit card advances that make things as easy as possible for you. What Is The Best Credit Card for Online Gambling? There are over 24 million people in the UK that gamble, with about 800,000 of them using credit cards to gamble. That's why knowing what to look for in online gambling casinos doesn't let people know which credit card should be used. There are various opinions about which credit cards serve you best in an online casino. The best credit card to use for online gambling is broken into four different categories based on the credit card network listed in no particular order are: Visa Master Card Discover American Express The above four credit cards authorize and process a transaction, but they go an extra step by setting terms in liability for fraud or fees charged to merchants when you pay with credit. 2. While in-person gambling is a fun tradition that's been around for centuries, the popularity of online gambling is growing at an enormous rate. In fact, by 2020, the global market for gambling online is projected to grow by a whopping 8.77%! As you can probably imagine, the fact that there are two exciting and viable options for getting your gambling fix makes gamer's loves more interesting, but also vastly more complicated. After all, choosing which form of gaming is right for you can be an overwhelming task. Luckily, we're here to help! Today, we're going to talk about offline vs online gambling and outline the pros and cons of each. Read on to get some insight as to which of these alternatives is best for you. Offline Casino Gambling Even back in medieval times, people enjoyed heading to gaming parlors to place bets and socialize with others. That tradition still persists today despite the fact that games are different and casinos have a much more modern aesthetic. Read on to learn some of the merits and downsides of offline casino gaming! How Does Traditional Gambling Work? To partake in traditional gambling, you need to hop in your car, drive to the casino, and start placing bets (as soon as you know the rules!) Most of these locales are attached to other venues like malls, hotels, restaurants, and resorts. At an offline casino, all gamblers are present in the room where bets are being placed. The room is filled with neon lights and a roaring crowd of other gamers, which is an engaging aesthetic that makes lots of gamblers feel high on adrenaline. Pros There are a lot of pros to offline gambling that make for an amazing experience: Social experiences. You're surrounded by other gamblers, which is a fun experience if you're interested in making gaming a social experience. Aesthetic and adrenaline. The lighting and traditional aesthetic of a land-based casino really helps to get the adrenaline pumping and the excitement at an all-time high. This is especially the case because excitement is contagious, so when other people are having a good time in the casino, you're likely to as well. Less paperwork. While online casinos require registrants to include personal information into their accounts, most offline casinos are pretty chill about background verification. This means less paperwork for you so that you can start gaming faster. Opportunities for a high payout. There aren't really any limits as to what you can bet at an in-person casino, so this is a great option for high-risk gamblers. Cons However, there are also a few downsides: Less variety. Since there are space constraints in land-based casinos, they can only have so many gaming options. You won't have the same amount of variety as you would online. Strict unspoken rules. There are a lot of etiquette rules that you'll need to follow at a physical casino. It overall makes for a better experience where all gamblers respect each other, but it can still be annoying sometimes. Lack of disabled accessibility. Casinos can get loud and bright, which a lot of people like. However, for those with sensory processing issues, it can also get overwhelming. Know yourself and your preferences! Online Gambling Now that you know the pros and cons of going to a land-based casino, it's time to take a look at the alternative: online gambling. Read on to learn why this might be the right option for your needs! How Do Online Casinos Work? Online casinos are basically large online rooms where you can play virtual versions of all the games that you would at a casino. You place bets using a bank account or, more popular as of late, bitcoin. Online casinos are great for games like slots that don't require a lot of interaction. However, poker, blackjack, and other card games are an entirely different experience digitally. Pros Here's why online casinos are awesome: Convenience. Online gambling can happen in your PJs from the comfort of your own home! You can be really comfortable while playing as a result. High percentage of payout. While land-based casinos offer opportunities for high payout, you'll likely not win very often. Online casinos offer more chances to win smaller prizes. Opportunities for real-life experiences. When you use an online casino, you aren't sacrificing the opportunity to play against real-life players. Live dealers are an option on most casino sites, so you can play against other people in a virtual room. More variety. Online casinos have no space restrictions and therefore offer more games. Cons However, there are also a few cons: Less social opportunities. You can't bring friends to an online casino for a night out. It's a generally slow experience. The lack of a roaring crowd and neon lights also makes for less adrenaline. More restrictive. High-stakes gamblers have betting restrictions. Many sites also make it so the more you win, the less likely you are to win in the future. This is obviously unfortunate for those who are skilled at gaming. So, Which Option Is Best? Neither offline or online casinos are inherently better than the other. Which alternative is right for you depends on what you want your gaming experience to be like. If your primary goal is winning anything, including small prizes, then online gambling is likely the right choice for you. However, if you have a lot of money and are a high-stakes gambler, you won't like how restrictive most casino sites are with betting and probably want to head to your local offline casino. If you're looking for a social experience, then you're definitely going to want to head to an in-person venue. You can bring friends and hang out with them while placing bets. This is a great way to have a night out- casinos serve most food and alcoholic drinks in addition to the awesome entertainment that they provide. Those who are interested in convenience may want to go with online gaming that you can do from the comfort of your own home. This is also the case for autistic gamers and those with other sensory processing accessibility needs. The bottom line is that you need to know yourself! Place a Bet Today Whether or not you prefer to gamble online or in a casino, there are lots of options out there for the places you can make bets and the types of games you can play. Now that you know the pros and cons of both online and offline gambling, it's time to get started. Check out the 'games' tab on our homepage for more information about the various casino games you can play in the format of your choosing. From slots to poker to blackjack to roulette, we've got you covered.
  3. Did you know that it is estimated that 1.6 billion people gamble at some point during a year? It is also estimated that 4.2 billion people have gambled at some point in their lives. With so many different ways to win money through gambling, such as sporting events, lotteries, and online casinos, it's no wonder so many people engage in gambling. Some feel disheartened when they don't win, however, there are ways you can improve your chances of winning money. Keep reading to learn all about pari-mutuel betting, including what it is and how it works, to find out if this type of gambling is right for you. What Is Pari-Mutuel Betting? Pari-mutuel, also known as pool betting, is a type of betting where instead of placing wagers against a bookmaker, the bettor places wagers against other bettors. Placing wagers against other bettors on the same event creates a pool of money, which is shared out among those who choose the winning circumstances. A small amount of all the total wagers is usually deducted by the 'house', which is either a state-run organization or a private company that provides the betting services. This type of betting is commonly used for greyhound racing and horse racing, but it can also be used for other sporting events such as golf. Pari-mutuel betting is legal in 43 states across the US and in other countries around the world. Pari-mutuel payouts depend on how many bettors placed bets on the sporting event and how many of those selected the winning outcome. This means that it's difficult for people to develop a betting strategy as there aren't any fixed odds. Regardless of the lack of strategy, pari-mutuel betting remains a popular gambling option for both professional and amateur bettors. How Do Pari-Mutuel Bets Work? Pari-mutuel betting is a very straightforward betting process, once you get your head around it. When a bettor first places their pari-mutuel bet they won't receive a fixed odd. When you first place your bet, you'll instead get probable odds, which are calculated based on the betting pool. This is where a pari-mutuel bet differs from other types of bets because there are no fixed odds. It's very likely that the probable odds will change as the sporting event happens. Once the event has taken place, the bets will all be added up, with the house taking some of the profits. The money that remains in the pool will then be divided between the bettors that made the right selection. The payout each bettor receives depends on how much their wager was. Pari-Mutuel Horse Racing Example Although the betting strategy is straightforward, it can be a difficult concept to grasp from the beginning. So to help you better understand pari-mutuel betting, we've created a horse racing example. There are five horses in the race and you decide to place a $10 bet on Horse A. The house has accepted these bets on the horses: Horse A - $400 Horse B - $200 Horse C - $300 Horse D - $100 Horse E - $150 The house calculates that the bets come to $1,200. The house takes a 10% cut (which is $120) leaving the betting pool total at $1,080. The payouts for each horse is then calculated by dividing the remaining balance by the total bet amount on each horse. For Horse A, the payout is $1,080 divided by $400, which equals $2.70. For Horse B, the payout is $1,080 divided by $200, which equals $5.40. For Horse C, the payout is $1,080 divided by $300, which equals $3.60. For Horse D, the payout is $1,080 divided by $100, which equals $10.80. For Horse E, the payout is $1,080 divided by $150, which equals $7.20. If Horse A won, the payout of $2.70 would be $27, because, for every $1 that was wagered, you receive $2.70. This means that you would win an additional $17 on top of the $10 you used to bet on the horse. This example uses smaller numbers, to keep it simple, but many pari-mutuel events have big money up for grabs. Similar to betting that relies on fixed odds, the odds for the favorite to win will always be the lowest, resulting in less money. Whereas the underdog bets will always be higher, meaning that if they do win the race, you're more likely to win big. Pari-Mutuel Top Tips It's better to place your bet as close to the start of the race as possible. This is because as the event draws nearer, the odds can change. Odds that change at the last minute could result in you losing a lot of money you thought you were going to win. For example, sometimes horses may have odds of 5/1 five hours before the race, so you put $100 on that horse to win (which would result in you receiving $500). But an hour before the race, during the warm-up, the horse has some problems and the odds drop to 3/1 (which means you would only win a maximum of $300). This could lead to a whole lot of heartache on your side, especially if you don't even check the odds again before the race. Do your betting on a personal level, this will ensure you get more of your hard-earned cash. Live bookies might take a cut from your winnings (after the house has already taken their cut). Stick to placing your bets at the track, over the phone, or on the internet through the sporting events website. Give Pari-Mutuel Betting a Go and See If You Can Win Big Now that you've learned more about pari-mutuel betting and how it works, why not try your hand at it? Remember that you can find pari-mutuel bets for various sporting events, such as horse racing, greyhound racing, and golf. Larger pari-mutuel organizations often attract more bettors, so these are the events where you might be able to win big.
  4. Here in America, we love our lotteries. About half of Americans play state lotteries—including, of course, the FL lotto. In 2017, the total sales came out to an astounding $71 billion. That comes down to about $86 a month of lottery tickets, which includes everything from scratch-offs to Powerball and Mega Millions entries. This $86 a month then translates to about $1,038 per year. Americans who make about $30,000 a year even admit to spending around 13 percent of their paychecks on the lottery! We're just a bunch of optimistic citizens hoping to cash in and become the next big winner. What's wrong with staying positive? Well, before you spend all your money on a bunch of losses, consult this guide. We cover the "Sunshine stakes" and tell you what you can expect when playing the Florida lottery—from how to play, to how to win, and everything between. Let's gamble! The History of the FL Lotto The Florida lotto is much more modern than you may think. In fact, its humble beginnings started in 1986. Through a constitutional amendment, Florida citizens voted to authorize a lottery in their state. The margin was substantial: two-to-one. Thanks to Florida Legislature and then-Governer Bob Martinez, the Florida lottery was established. The goal? To maximize revenues for enhancing public education—which ultimately allowed the people of Florida to benefit from significant money wins. Since then, both goals have been accomplished, earning this movement's success! The first tickets, after a tumultuous beginning (no one said it would be easy putting a lottery together), were sold on January 12, 1988. Keep in mind this date is six days before its scheduled release date of the 18th! What was the first Florida lottery game ever played? A $1 scratch-off, called MILLIONAIRE, which sold over $95 million in sales on that first day in January. Floridians were so excited to play their odds, they contributed to a lottery industry record. MILLIONAIRE's success didn't stop there. Within seventeen days of borrowing $15.5 million from the state's General Revenue Fund, the lottery was able to pay back their start-up fees with interest to boot. This success didn't blind the lottery from its original mission, which was to enhance public education. As an industry leader, the FL lotto contributes to the education system consecutively, with more than $1 billion in proceeds benefiting Florida students and schools around the state. This contribution represents a whopping 6 percent of the state's entire education budget. How Have Scratch-Offs Grown Since Then? If you're wondering where to buy lottery tickets in Florida, don't worry—there's no lack of options. That one measly scratch-off game took off, and lottery fever helped fuel the industry's growth. By August of 1988, the FL lotto had already introduced its first two Draw games: FLORIDA LOTTO® and CASH 3™. But what about the scratch-off? It all began there, so it's interesting to trace its expansion over time. Now, scratch-offs range in price from $1 to $25 and include about sixty different scratch-off games at any one time. According to the FL lotto, this provides "better games and more winning moments." It also offers people a variety that allows them to choose something fun or relatable to them. Scratch-off prizes range from free merch and free tickets to more substantial offerings, such as cash prizes and, oh yeah, $10 million. So while scratch-offs aren't exactly the jackpot, they're no small thing, either. The opportunity for big money is there. Tickets are sold at more than 13,000 retailers across the state. So, the next time you're pumping gas, the odds are high (pun intended) that the establishment will be selling FL lottery tickets. The Florida Lotto and the Florida Public Education System There's an inextricable link between the FL lotto and the state's education system—even beyond what we've mentioned so far already. Every day, thousands of students from pre-kindergarten to high school reap the benefits of the FL lotto's dollars. The FL lotto contributes significantly to Florida's Bright Futures Scholarship Program as well as other forms of financial aid. More than $6.3 billion from the FL lotto has been used to benefit students, making schools more affordable and keeping them running. It's not just the money, either. The FL lottery has helped build or renovate nearly 800 schools in the state. All this combined? The FL lottery has given more than $36 billion in profits to the school systems. So, if you've even gotten an education in the state of Florida, you can tip your hat to the Florida lotto! Let's Talk About the Big Bucks Scratch-offs are fantastic and all, but what about the jackpot!? When you hear about the Florida Lotto, you're probably thinking of the millions, the aptly-named FLORIDA LOTTO. This game showed up mere months after the scratch-off was born, its birthday being August 31, 1988. At the time, they produced a $52 million jackpot that really amped up the excitement and water cooler conversations. At the time of this writing, the next jackpot is set at $3.5 million. The week before, there were zero 6-of-6 winners, but eleven 5-of-6 winners (ringing in a hefty, albeit lesser sum, of $5,401.00). But how does the FLORIDA LOTTO work, exactly? Is it always $3.5 million? What are the rules? Well, for just $1, you have the chance to win big. Jackpots always begin at $2 million with room to grow from there—they roll until there's a winner. Drawings are held twice every week, providing ample time for you to play this week still (hurry, buy your ticket!). Don't think it's worth your hard-earned cash? It helps to know that 1,000 people have already been jackpot winners. You could be next. There's always the option to add an EZMATCH™ ticket to your order, which ups your chances of winning instant cash. You can also consider XTRA, which multiplies any of your non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, or five times. For context, at the time of this writing, 7,555 people won the EZMATCH™, which was a $24,097.00 prize! Now that you have a bit of an idea of how the lotto works, let's discuss how to play (and how to win). How to Play (And Hopefully Win!) the Florida Lotto First, head to your local ticket retailer and buy a ticket from the clerk or pick up a FLORIDA LOTTO playslip. Each lotto playslip has ten panels, A through J, in which you will select your numbers (1 to 53). Each player selects six numbers from 1 to 53. If you don't want the pressure of choosing your own numbers, that's what the QP box (or Quick Play box) is for. Selecting this option allows the terminal to choose your numbers for you randomly. Once you've entirely filled out your playslip, the rest is up to chance! Turn your ticket into the retailer, who will then give you a printed slip of your numbers, as well as the draw date. You are responsible for the accuracy of your tickets, so if you're skeptical, always check them before leaving the store. And there you have it! The rest is a waiting game. Tune in to see if you've won in one of four ways: Visting flalottery.com Checking at authorized Florida Lottery retailers Calling (850)-921-PLAY (7529) And perhaps the most exciting, nail-biting way: watching it live online Drawings are held twice a week, on Wednesday and Saturday nights at 11:15 PM EST. How late can you buy lottery tickets in Florida to play for any drawing? You can buy a ticket until 10:40 PM EST on the day of the draw. Anything bought after 10:40 PM will be carried over onto the next draw. The overall odds of winning the Florida lotto come out to a ratio of 1:67.36. If you win: make sure to claim your winnings within 180 days of the draw date. Of course, we doubt this will be an issue for winners! Still, there's almost nothing worse than winning the lotto and then letting your winning ticket expire (it's happened!). Two Ways to Increase Your Earnings Each lottery ticket has two options for winning bigger: EXmatch and XTRA. For $1 more per play, you can consider selecting the EZmatch box on your panel, which, as mentioned earlier, allows you to win cash instantly instead of having to wait for the winning lotto numbers. If you want the chance to multiply any non-jackpot winnings, you'd also select the XTRA box (for another additional $1 charge). XTRA players who win three of six lotto numbers will receive a $25 bonus minimum, as well as the 3-of-6 prize multiplied by five—regardless of the multiplier selected in that drawing. So, if you choose the EZmatch and XTRA options with your ticket, it'd come out to $3 per play. The overall odds with EZmatch come out to a ratio of 1:4.71. The overall odds with XTRA come out to a ratio of 1:7.61. Of course, when it comes to strategy, there are some things you can do to up your chances. However, as with all gambling, there's only so much you can do. At a certain point, your winning or losing is not in your hands, but in the hands of chance, the house, the odds, etc. Let's discuss strategy next. How to Strategize When Picking Your Lotto Numbers Strategies, at the very least, keep you motivated and organized. At best, however, they can help you choose winning lotto numbers. First, you can analyze previous lottery results of the lottery you want to play. Which numbers have been selected, and which have not? Knowing this gives you an idea of which numbers are "hot," which are "cold," and which are overdue. "Hot" numbers are those that have been picked most frequently. "Cold" numbers are those that are drawn less frequently. And overdue numbers are those that have not shown up at all in recent weeks. You can also consider the odds and evens strategy. This strategy entails not looking at individual numbers, but rather, the probability of a specific group of numbers being drawn. It's highly unlikely that the numbers chosen will be all even, or all odd—statistically, it's a nice even split of the two.
