With general gameplay and paytable identical to that of the more standard Jacks or Better video poker variation, Playtech’s 2 Ways Royal is a video poker machine that adds a bit more chance of winning the biggest jackpot of the game, with an additional royal flush.
Unlike standard video poker machines that pay the royal flush jackpot for the standard ten to ace royal flush, 2 Ways Royal pays the same jackpot of 250 times the bet for a straight flush from deuce to six, called the Royal Flush Lo.
Two Royal Flushes and Twice the Fun
With an additional royal flush on the paytable, players have a more realistic chance of winning the game’s top prize. All other royal flushes pay 50x the initial bet as well, giving plenty of chances for a solid win. However, there are no wild cards in Playtech’s 2 Ways Royal, which makes it somewhat harder to make any kind of a straight flush.
Strategy wise, 2 Ways Royal should be played identically to Jacks or Better, as one should always go after a straight flush when four cards to a straight flush are dealt, and this does not change in 2 Ways Royal either.
The game features simple graphics, characteristic to video poker machines and no background music, with few sounds to speak of. The gameplay is relatively fast but slower than many other video poker machines. 2 Ways Royal is a relatively high variance video poker game with a solid payout rate of 99.5% which is very similar to Jacks or Better.
