High Rolls Rewarded

The biggest departure from the classic rules would be that rolls of 2 or 3 are completely ignored. However, if the shooter (player) rolls an 11 or 12, then there will be an automatic payout of even money odds. As you can see, this is where the name high point craps comes from.

Making a Point

Any other number that is rolled other than 2, 3, 11, or 12 will be declared as the point. For the bettors to win, they will have to depend on the shooter rolling a higher value than the point they have established. In high point craps, a 2 or 3 are the danger numbers and these can cause a defeat.

House Edge

When playing high point craps, players need to bear in mind that the house edge is 2.35% on standard bets. For a point of comparison, we can confirm 1.41% is the house edge if you choose to bet on pass or come bets when playing classic craps.

Advantages & Disadvantages

While some variants of craps can be tricky to understand, high point craps is quite simple to grasp. By rolling an 11 or 12, the player can win quickly before moving on to a new round. However, this advantage is offset slightly by the higher house edge of 2.35%.
