Mini Baccarat
Overview
Mini Baccarat is broadly similar to classic baccarat except for the betting limits, which have been lowered to accommodate users who want to wager with smaller amounts of money. With classic craps being ideal for high rollers, mini baccarat can be a viable entry point for new players who want to learn the rules and don’t want to incur high levels of risk.
Scoring
In mini baccarat, the 10 and face cards are worth 0 because the left digit isn’t counted when scoring baccarat hands. Ace will then be scored 1 and the number cards are worth the value that’s displayed – to confirm, 3 would be 3, 5, is 5, and 7 is 7.
Rules
Fundamentally, mini baccarat is a contest between the player and the banker. When the player scores up to 4, they can draw a third card or else stand on 5 if they prefer. However, the player will stand on 6 or 7 and will only draw a third card if the banker scores 5 or fewer and takes their card first.
Naturals
While a hand can be won with 6 or 7, a natural 8 or 9 is the ultimate way of winning in mini baccarat. If the banker or the player has the higher natural 8 or 9 after receiving two cards, they win immediately. Of course, it is also possible for the bets to be pushed if there is an identical score.
Odds
With mini baccarat, users can receive an even-money payout whether they win by betting on the banker or the player hands. However, because the player’s house edge is 1.24% and the banker’s is 1.06%, this means that betting on the banker will carry a 5% commission as the premium for winning while wagering on the more likely outcome. With a draw bet, the user can win with 8/1 or 9/1 odds.
