Simplified Craps
Overview
With classic craps, the betting table can be confusing for new players who are not yet familiar with the many options and odds. Fortunately, there is a simpler version that beginners can use as a way of becoming more familiar with the basics. With a variety of online casino sites, you should be able to find table games devoted to simplified craps.
One Roll
The beauty of simplified craps is that the outcome of the game is decided with a single roll by the shooter (player). In classic craps and other versions, there can be a series of rounds of rolls that are used to determine various outcomes. And this is the reason why the other variants have a more complex range of options on the betting table.
Pass & Don’t Pass
In simplified craps, players still have the option to make “pass” and “don’t pass bets”. For the uninitiated, a pass bet wins if the shooter rolls 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, or 12. On the flip side, anyone who bets or don’t pass will win if the shooter can roll 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9. Please note that these outcomes differ when playing classic craps.
Other Bets
Players will also have the option to bet on craps, which can include double 1s, 2s, 3s, 4s, 5s, and 6s along with a handful of other combinations shown on the betting table. Any craps can payout 7/1 while any seven numbers can payout 4/1. There will also be the option to bet on the shooter rolling 7 or 11 as a natural number.
House Edge
As with any table game, the odds play a factor in the outcome of the bets that are placed. Therefore, players need to consider that betting pass in simplified craps carries a house edge of 2.80%, which is higher compared to the 1.41% house edge of classic craps.
