Popular Gambling Streamer Accidently Reveals $3 Billion in Online Casino Wagers
By Shane Addinall Nov 21, 2023 EntertainmentPopular Kick.com casino streamer, xQc, accidentally revealed that he has placed billions in wagers. This shocked some viewers and exposed a lack of understanding of gambling basics among a segment of his viewers. Most online casino players keep their betting behaviours private. However, with the importance of transparency, a lot more gambling information is easily accessible, like one's total wagers, time playing at the casino, recent losses, and other safer gambling highlights.
Combining this information visibility with the curious eyes of thousands of viewers caused popular live streamer Félix “xQc” Lengyel to accidentally reveal that he has wagered an incredible $2,655,921,982 on his Stake.com casino account.
Jaw-Dropping Wins and Wager Reveals
While xQc made a name for himself as a variety streamer on Twitch, he recently moved to up-and-comer Kick.com. The Kick platform is owned and operated by Stake.com co-founders Bijan Tehrani, Ed Craven and another famous streamer, Tyler "Trainwrecks” Niknam.
The site lured xQc to their side of the industry in June with an astounding deal that guaranteed him $100 million. The chance to retain 95% of all subscription fees (versus Twitch’s 50%-70%) and their openness to online casino content sweetened the pot.
During one of his recent online casino streams, he raked in just over $1.5 million from big wins on Mighty Mask, Beast Below, Dork Unit, and Drop’em instant slots. While he was celebrating his windfall, his total wagers showed on screen, and viewers were shocked to see a total of nearly $3 billion!
That’s Not How Total Wagers Work
Given that xQc is known as a high roller who thinks nothing of betting up to $50,000 on a single slot spin, most viewers expect to see him collect big wins and also lose lots of money at the same time.
What was telling from some of the viewer reaction is how little the average person understands of how casino basics like cumulative bets work. One person said the number had to be fake as he doubts xQc *has* over $2 billion to play at the casino.
To clarify, the figure of $2.6 billion was not deposits made but the total cumulative value of all wagers placed. It does not track wins or losses. With bets of up to $50,000 per spin, it is easy for a high roller to rack up some incredible wager results.
Practically, if xQc had $50,000 in his account balance and, thanks to a few lucky wins and break-even spins, was able to use that starter balance to place ten max bets, he would have generated $500,000 (10 bets x $50,000) in total wagers. Considering that he streams himself playing various casino games, primarily instant slots, for hours at a time, those cumulative wagers will begin to add up over time.
