    Graphics & Theme

    This game was inspired by the most popular sport in the world – football. To be more precise, we are talking about a special rule where the last team that scores a goal is the winner. This rule is applied when the match is tied after the regular time has passed. Logically, the graphics of this game is related to football. The background represents the football field. The symbols look polished and the paytable covers the right side of the screen.

    Gameplay

    Golden Goal is a very simple online slot in terms of reel/payline pattern. It has three reels and one payline. Players can choose the number of coins they want to use (one, two or three) and their value.

    The number of coins you use is very important because it determines the size of the prize. You have to play with three coins if you want to get the top prizes.

    All the symbols in Golden Goal are inspired by football. They include goalkeeper’s gloves, referee’s whistle, football boots and a golden football. In most cases, you will need three matching symbols on a single line to win a prize. Yet, there are a few exceptions.

    For starters, you can get a combination of gloves, whistles and football boots and still win a reward. Any of these three symbols mixed in a line guarantee a prize. On the other hand, the golden football is the highest paying symbol in the game which provides prizes even if you get just one or two on a payline.

    This is also the symbol that acts as a wild. In other words, if you get at least one of these symbols on a line, it will be used as a replacement for any other symbol if it helps players to win a turn. Finally, the same symbol is associated with the progressive jackpot. Simply hit three of these symbols while playing with 3 coins and you’ll get the massive prize.

    Golden Goal doesn’t have a Scatter symbol, a bonus symbol, a multiplier or some other special symbol, but it’s still a game that will probably make you feel entertained.

    Golden Goal has 3 reels that rotate within a simple game screen configuration: no sophisticated animations and no flickering lights to distract you from the turns. On those reels, punters will find a series of classic essential accessories that any good football game needs, such as football boots, a referee whistle and some goalkeeper gloves. And, of course, no match would be complete with the most important football. However, the soccer icon shown on these reels is gold like the Jules Rimet Trophy. However, there are some benefits to playing with 3 coins. This is because the reward of the progressive jackpot of the game is only awarded when all 3 coins are in place and three golden ball symbols are aligned.

    The minimal effects and graphics makes Golden Goal an easy and straightforward to play game with the symbols taking a fruity nature – just like with the classic slots. But I liked how, despite having this simple graphics and appeal, they have managed to incorporate modern in-game features such as multipliers, wild substitutions and Scatter rewards, which help you dribble towards your main objective of getting a 10,000× on your bet!
